Detailed Itinerary
Day 1
Your journey begins in Kirkwall, Scotland, a small port close to the country’s capital. Here you will board your ship and begin to meet your fellow travelers.
Days 2-3
Your ship will venture northward along the eastern coast of Scotland. You will have multiple opportunities for heading to shore and exploring ancient ruins, like the UNESCO World Heritage site the Ring of Brodgar, and archaeological sites.
Days 4-10
History and nature await you! As your vessel travels northwards along Norway’s coast you will stop in many towns. You will learn about traditional fishing practices, tour museums and cathedrals, and attend lectures on the area’s history. The natural scenery will also provide many photographic moments. Glaciers, unusual rock formations, and lakes are scattered throughout the landscape. If you are lucky, you might encounter the mythical troll.
Day 11
You will sail north past Bear Island as you head towards the island of Spitsbergen in Norway’s Svalbard archipelago. Depending on the weather you may have the opportunity to explore this bird-filled island on a zodiac.
Day 12-14
The Svalbard archipelago is a nature-enthusiast’s paradise filled with fjords, mountains, reindeer, and polar bears. The itinerary is flexible in order to maximize the archipelago’s offerings.
Day 15
You will disembark your ship in Longyearbyen, Norway. It’s time to say goodbye to your shipmates as you head home with memories of the Norwegian coast!
